I got this recipe from Elly's was very good!! we have tons of leftovers..

Elly's Chili

1.5 lbs. ground beef

1 large onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup chili powder

1 Tbsp. cumin

2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. oregano

1 28 oz. can tomato sauce

1 14.5oz can stewed tomatoes

2 14.5oz cans diced tomatoes with green chilies or jalapenos

1 can kidney beans with liquid

Tabasco to taste

pepper, to taste

Combine ground beef and onion in large stockpot over medium heat. Add garlic about halfway through the browning process. Brown ground beef and drain fat.

Stir in chili powder, salt, oregano, cumin, tabasco, and tomatoes. Heat to boiling, then reduce heat to simmer, and cover. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour. Add additional spices, if necessary, to taste.

Stir in beans. Simmer, uncovered, for 30 more minutes, stirring occasionally.

I made it in the crock pot..I had it on low for about 5 hours. I cooked the ground beef before cooking it all in the crock pot. I served it with corn muffins.
